All over for another year

Hi everyone,

Now back home after a great time in Athens.  Back to the wet weather!!! :)))

Well, another Eurovision is over and the analysis begins.  Should Finland have won?  Is there too much neighbourly voting?  Do we like the change in the voting presentation?  Did we like the presenters?  Did Malta deserve to finish last?  And many ,many more questions.

The only true fact at the moment is that the 52nd  Eurovision Song Contest will take place in 2007 in Finland.  I'm already looking forward to this as Finland has been waiting to host this event for years and years and I am sure that they will put on an excellent show. I will start the savings plan now so I can hopefully enjoy 11 days there as I did in Athens.

Hope you enjoyed the site this year and the reviews I've posted .  I've enjoyed reading your comments and questions very much.

Until next year in Finland!

Bye for now!

great stuff peter

Well done, it really added to the excitement to read your site every day! I had a few bets on but Id say lost more than I won! However at €2 per bet its a bit of fun i could afford!

Thanks again for a great site and great entertainment. DO you keep the site updated for the rest of the year or are you in hibernation!!??

Also just wondering is there an Irish eurovision "club" or society we could join? it would be great if there was an occasional get together or event. Id certainly be interested. If ever anything happens let me know. My email is kcmusic1@iol.ie

I think the only way any of the western countries will win is if UK goes in as Scotland, Wales, N Irl and England...oh and Isle of Man. Wonder could we enter Aran Islands..??!! That way we'd surely get a few more votes, though Brian did well.

Are we definitely in next year? There was something about only the top 6 and the big 4 qualifying.

Re: great stuff peter

why not the Channel Islands? Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and Sark are all have separate parliamentary identities? Though they may well vote for each other and knock out the others. LOL

Thanks Peter

Peter, thanks for all of your insightful comments on the Greek contest. I know you're not getting paid for keeping us all so well informed - that makes it even more incredible! I've decided that for the Helsinki contest I'll simply take your semi-final selections and prediction (s) for the final and place bets accordingly. That way I should end up with a pile of cash! Thanks again. I look forward to hearing all your thoughts next year.

*bows and blows kisses* Thanks for great entertainment and updates!
I'm also wondering if you update at all during the year. There are so many weird and wonderful Eurofacts we could all anorak into during these long, cold, sevenish months between say June and February.
The idea about The UK splitting up into parts for Eurovision is not bad at all, maybe all of Western Europe should do that?;-) Sweden could send one entry from Stockholm, one from Gothenburg, one from Malmö... *hmmmm*
I'd like to see the wizened horse and cart driver who guided me around Inish Mor sing next year.

Thanks Peter for the excellent work you and the other akoe guys have done during, what I assume a very hectic week in Greece.
I have enjoyed every blog reports here, smiled, laughed and even frowned a bit, but hey! how fun would it be if everyone on the globe would share the same opinions!?

I am so looking forward to next year and I really hope you guys will be there and blog away:D

Send my best to Keith, Ryan and Andrew.

Until next year...
Cheers from Sweden

eurovision is now a joke

used to love eurovision but im afraid its now become a joke, east europeans vote for each other as do the scandanavians etc and good songs get lost on the way..used to think the bbc didnt bother with uk songs and thought of contest as a joke and after seeing the winner and runner up this year i agree, why bother with trying to get a great song as the swedes do each year when any crap wins..Finland was different and in your face but a winner!!think its had its day although its a great comedy show but not for real music lovers
